This week’s news…it’s a lot, but please read it to the end! There’s a lot of stuff going out this week!
If you haven’t yet finished registering for the DC trip there is still time this week! The registration cut-off is Saturday, October 22. Students attending the trip need to have made some form of payment by Saturday, October 22 in order to be kept on the roster for the trip. Students who have not made a payment will be moved off the trip list and onto the waitlist. Money that has been fundraised is being sent this week and will be credited by Saturday, October 22. Students who wish to have discount card fundraiser money applied to the DC trip need to make sure their discount card money is turned in by November 1. After that date students who owe money for discount cards will be placed on the obligation list.

The band will be marching in the homecoming parade this Thursday. Step-off is at 6:30 PM. Students will be dismissed by 7:30 PM. Rehearsal will end at 5:30 and the band will provide students with a snack before the parade starts. Please note that as of this Thursday all rehearsals end at 5:30 PM as we finish preparing for Marching MPA. The band will be performing at the homecoming pep rally on Friday. Band students are to wear their dinkles, polo shirts (tucked in), long black socks, and a black belt. Students who do not have a 5th hour should report to the school no later than 11:45. Students must have their flip folders with them for the pep rally.
Grades are in for the 1st nine weeks. Students who did not finish pass-offs may complete them for a 79 provided they are done by Friday, October 21.
Seniors who wish to apply for the Young Floridian Scholarship need to see Mr. Hall by Friday, October 21 in order to submit their name for consideration. This is open to any band or chorus senior in good standing. The scholarship pays tuition for two years to Indian River State College.
Senior night is Friday, October 28. The schedule for senior night will be published on Monday, October 24. Senior bio sheets are available from Mr. Hall. Students may see Mr. Hall before school, after school, before class, after class or after rehearsal for their bio sheets. Students must have their bio sheets completed and returned to Mr. Hall by 2:00 on Friday, October 21. Late bio sheets will not be accepted.
Indian River State College is now accepting nominations for Four County Honors Band. There are three bands students may submit their names for. The 9th & 10th Grade Band, the11th & 12th Grade Band, and the Jazz Band (students should currently be in the Jazz Band at TCHS to submit their name for this ensemble). Up to 17 students can be nominated for each of the concert bands (the first 17 to turn in their forms will be nominated) and up to 4 students can be nominated for the Jazz Band. The Concert Bands rehearse and perform on January 19, 20, and 21. The Jazz Band rehearses and performs on January 9, 17, 18, and 21. Please check your calendar prior to submitting your nomination form. Students must turn in their nomination form with $15.00 stapled to it (cash or money order only). This will be returned to students after the performance provided they are not absent from the event. Nomination forms are due by the end of the day Friday, November 4.
The itinerary for Marching MPA and Friday, October 21 are being published on October 17, 2016.
On Thursday, October 27 we will be performing for Windmill Point. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 so that we can meet our performance start time of 2:00. Students who are not on campus during last block should plan to arrive at TCHS by 1:00.
Program Ad Sales are due by November 7. Poinsettias are now on sale! These are great ways to raise money for your trip!
